You have stuff, right? When you’re on the go, you need a place to put that stuff. Well, we’ve got a thing in which you can put your stuff!

Give $25 online now to the Widows, Orphans & Disabled Firemen’s Fund and we’ll send you an LAFD carry-all, perfect for that trip to the beach, the market, the park or anywhere else you might need to bring stuff. (On the donation form, just put “LAFD carry-all” in the tribute field.)

All proceeds — 100% of your donations — go to firefighters and their families in times of crisis.

Thank you for your generosity.

We created this video last year to honor those who lost their lives on the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. In it, LAFD member and chaplain Rick Godinez recounts what it was like working at Ground Zero on one of the many teams from around the country that went to New York to help.

Erik Abrahamson may work for the Standford Fire & Rescue Department in Connecticut, but he has an affinity for Los Angeles. He often visits the city to catch a show or participate in local marathons. (He’s pictured here holding his father’s FDNY helmet while on a visit to the Frank Hotchkins Memorial Training Center in L.A.)
Recently, when his schedule precluded him from seeing Ringo Starr at Southern California’s famous Greek Theatre, he donated his tickets to the Widows, Orphans & Disabled Firemen’s Fund, which sold them online to a lucky Angelino. All proceeds benefited the charity.
Thanks, Erik. Your contribution goes to help firefighters and their families in times of need.
Do you have things you’d like to donate? We’re looking for items for our next set of auctions in September. Check out our wishlist and let us know.

Summer is almost over, so hurry up and donate $75 to the Widows, Orphans & Disabled Firemen’s Fund online this month and we’ll send you this commemorative LAFD beach towel. There’s still time to lounge by the pool or on the sand. All proceeds benefit firefighters in need and their families.

We know, we know. The freedom of the open road, the special love you have for your car — you love to drive.
That’s why we’ll send you an LAFD emergency road kit when you donate $100 online in June.
Your donation goes to help injured firefighters and their families. So, do something good and know you’re covered on the road.

This event is a blast. If you’re in L.A., come down for some incredible food and other great stuff.

wodff:

At the station, firefighters take turns cooking for each other. If they do a bad job, they never live it down. Because of that, all firefighters are awesome cooks. This Thursday, you can experience their cooking at the largest firefighter appreciation event in the nation, Hope for Firefighters in downtown Los Angeles.

Aside from absolutely stellar food, there’s also:

  • Live music
  • Muster games in which teams compete in firefighter-style drills
  • Contests & raffles
  • Wilshire the Fire Dog
  • The cast of Leave It To Beaver
  • And a ton of firefighters

Proceeds benefit the Widows, Orphans & Disabled Firemen’s Fund. Don’t miss this opportunity to have a great time for a great cause. Bring a friend or your whole office.
